Why Thinner Lenses?

One of the thinnest types of plastic lenses used to make glasses is known as 1.67. The name comes from the index of refraction of this type of plastic material. The index of refraction of a lens material determines thickness. As a comparison, Standard Plastic lenses, or CR-39 lenses, have an index of refraction of 1.49. Use 1.67 Thinner Lenses if you have a fairly strong to very strong prescription and your lenses will be lighter in weight and more cosmetically appealing.

Why Polarized Lenses?

Any dark sunglass lens will reduce brightness but only a polarized sunglass lens will reduce glare & brightness. Traditional sunglass lenses are tinted in order to darken a lens but a polarized lens is actually two clear lenses smooshed together with a polarizing film in the center. Polarized lenses make for optimal sunglasses.
